The Ministry of Health has confirmed that salary arrears owed to nurses and midwives posted in 2024/2025 will be paid following successful negotiations with the Ministry of Finance.

The approved payment plan will see the arrears settled in four instalments from April to July 2026, ensuring that all outstanding amounts are cleared in an orderly manner.

The schedule is as follows: April – two months’ arrears, May – three months, June – three months, and July – three months.

The Ministry of Health, in a statement on Thursday, February 26, praised nurses and midwives for their patience and continued dedication to service despite the delays.

The Ministry also thanked the Ministry of Finance for prioritising and expediting the settlement process.

It reiterated its commitment to the welfare, motivation, and support of all health workers across the country.
