Visiting Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and President of the Physical Education Organization Muhammad Aliabadi on Thursday met with Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Supreme People's Assembly, with the aim of improving bilateral exchanges.
"It is the firm stand of the Iranian government to boost relations of friendship with the DPRK," Aliabadi was quoted by the DPRK's official KCNA news agency as saying.
Iran will further develop cooperation with the DPRK in various fields including sports, said Aliabadi who arrived here Tuesday on a visit.
The two countries have seen strengthened bilateral exchanges recently, with the DPRK's Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun and Minister of Foreign Trade Rim Kyong Man visiting Iran in August and September respectively to push ahead bilateral cooperation in foreign policy and trade.
