Two people on Friday donated GH¢ 2,500 to assist victims affected in the Koforidua market fire disaster.
Daasebre Professor Oti-Boateng, Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional area, donated GH¢ 2,000 and Ms Bernice Beatrice Boateng, Assembly member for the market electoral area, GH¢ 500 as their widow's mite for the victims.
Fire recently gutted the market destroying about 36 stalls.
Nana Yaa Daani, Queenmother of the area, pledged 500 pieces of cement blocks for the construction of the affected stalls.
Nana Adjei Boateng, New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive who received the donation, appealed to traders against the use of naked fire especially for cooking in the market.
He urged them to refrain from illegal wiring of their stalls to prevent fire outbreak.
Madam Yaa Serwah, a victim on behalf of her colleagues expressed appreciation to the donors for their assistance.
