Reverend Dr Steve Asante, Vice-Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana, has charged ministers of the gospel to commit themselves to the will of God but not what people will want them to do.
He said since the Church is the most powerful and important agent of change as well as the hope of the world, pastors must not play games with their calling.
Rev. Dr Asante stated this at the induction service of Reverend Robert Asante, as a full Minister of the Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi on Sunday.
Reverend Robert Asante, a former Executive Director of Finance, First Allied Savings and Loans Limited in Kumasi, was an adjunct pastor of the Church who terminated his appointed with the Bank in December 2008 to take up full gospel ministry.
The Senior Pastor of the Asokwa Baptist Church, Reverend Dr. Steve Asante therefore urged ministers of the gospel to always remember their charge to reconcile the world with God, by being the propagandists of the gospel.
The speaker however cautioned pastors not to be quick to judge those who fail in their Christian lives.
"Let your hearts throb after those who fail and help them to reconcile with God and the society," he said.
Dr Steve Asante appealed to the congregation to obey their pastors as well as support and encourage them in their ministries.
The occasion was used to honour two deacons of the church for their dedication and bringing their term of office to a close.
Reverend Dr. Kojo Osei-Wusuh, Senior Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church presented certificates of honour to Deacons Kwaku Annin and Ruth Nabon and encouraged all to emulate them.
He congratulated Reverend Robert Asante for leaving the bank for such a noble profession, adding that, God always called people with skills to fulfil their calling.
