Ghanaians have been asked to maintain and preserve the high morality and good standards bequeathed on the nation by its great forefathers and leaders.
Reverend Enoch Osafo, the Resident Pastor in charge of the Taifa Assembly of the Christ Apostolic Church International who made the call on Tuesday recalled one of the moral standards which is respect to the adult no matter who the person was.
"The good moral fibre we all came to meet in the country is fast eroding especially when it comes to politics', he said, and appealed to those making fun of the President's slips to stop since it did not show respect.
"Because of politics some people do not exhibit any respect to authority. Any body at all could rain insults on the Presidency and others in authority," the Minister said in a sermon during a weeklong prayers session organized by the local assembly for the Church and the nation on the theme: "Supplications and Intercessions."
Rev Osafo said God ordained leaders, hence the need to pay attention to them, give them the necessary respect and pray for them.
In the face of economic challenges, he said it would be prudent for Christians to pray for the nation and also for Ghana to develop more in the area of the sciences to enable the country manage its natural resources such as gold, oil, timber among other raw materials.
He emphasized the need for professionals to look for avenues to ensure that value was added to the country's natural resources which should be exported as finished products.
