Reverend Moses Simon Kwablah Lanyo, Parish Priest of the Kabakaba Hill branch of the Global Evangelical Church in Ho, has called on Christians to use music as an effective tool of communicating with God.
He said music played a very important role in spiritual upliftment as well as the socio-economic development of mankind.
Rev. Lanyo made the call at the 14th anniversary celebration of the Calvary Choir of the Mataheko branch of the church in Accra, on Sunday.
The theme for the celebration was: "Songs that break the chains."
He admonished the choristers to sing songs that are decent, soul-winning and soul-searching in order to win more souls for Christ.
Rev. Lanyo also called for songs that would help reduce the moral decadence which had eaten deep into the society.
Mr Timothy Nortsu, President of the National Choir Union of the Church, advised the choristers to be respectful and law-abiding to enable them to achieve their aims.
He urged them to desist from dressing shabbily, which he said was a canker spreading fast among Ghanaians.
The President called on Ghanaians to refrain from acts, which hinder national development.
