A Kumasi Circuit Court has fined a mason and a Vulcanizer GH¢200.00 each for stealing engine oil.
They will in addition pay a sum of GH¢400.00 for the engine oil, as well serve a bond to be of good behaviour for one year or in default serve six months imprisonment in hard labour.
Kwadwo Nkrumah aka Jojo, 43, the Mason who also doubles as a driver's mate at Atwima Akropong and Kwadwo Amoah, a 27 year-old Vulcanizer pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Mary Nana Adwoa Affanyi told the court presided over by Mr. Agyei Frimpong that on May 22, 2009 at about 6:30am, the complainant woke up only to find out that one barrel of his engine oil had been siphoned.
She said the complainant started crying and this caused a witness to approach him and ask what was wrong.
The witness told him that, just about a few minutes ago, the accused, Kwadwo Amoah had brought a quantity of engine oil to him for sale, claiming that he brought it from Suame Maakro.
Chief Inspector Affanyi explained that, the complainant and the witness went to Kwadwo Amoah and demanded to know where he got the engine oil from, threatening that they would report him to the police.
Prosecution further said that Kwadwo Amoah confessed that he stole the oil the previous day with the help from Kwadwo Nkrumah.
The two were therefore arrested and arraigned.
