The Ministry of Health has upgraded the Health Assistant's Training School at Twifo Praso into a Diploma awarding institute.
Mr Joseph Foster Andoh, District Chief Executive for Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District, who disclosed this at the district assembly's meeting on Friday, said the first batch of students for the diploma course in midwifery, will begin this year.
He said the assembly would derive enormous benefits from the new status of the school and urged members of the assembly to help provide the requisite support.
On sanitation, he said, the assembly would ensure that the people lived in sanitary conditions, free from sickness and diseases.
To this end, Mr Andoh appealed to the assembly to undertake monthly clean up exercises in their electoral areas in order to keep the environment tidy at all times.
He said the assembly would also embark on a massive tree planting exercise to serve as windbreaks.
