Private Schools have been urged to organize in-service for their teachers to meet changing trends in education.
Mr Paul Klutse, a Circuit Supervisor at the Ketu-South Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) made the call on Friday at a speech and prize giving day organised by the Kekeli Basic School, a private school at Aflao.
It was under the theme: "The Role of the Private School Teacher in Quality Education".
He said teaching and learning was becoming more dynamic, which put responsibility on private school proprietors to invest in training for their staff.
Mr Klutse, however, urged private institutions to train people with the moral and academic capacity needed to propel the country's development plans.
He advised parents to shun frivolous lifestyles to enable them cater well for their children to be obedient and take their studies seriously.
Mr Emmanuel Mawuli, Proprietor said the school, which started with 70 pupils in 1997, currently has an enrolment of 570, with high performance levels in the BECE chalking between 94 and 100 per cent since 2003.
He appealed to government to find ways of supporting private schools since they also contributed to the country's educational agenda.
