Ghanaian Muslims have been urged to show understanding, tolerance and resolve to use dialogue in settling their differences.
Alhaji Alkad Ibrahim, Ashanti Regional Chief Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, gave the advice, when he led thousands Moslems in prayers to mark Eid-Ul-Fitr, after a month of prayers and fasting.
He told them to shun acts of violence and other social vices that may give a bad image to Islam.
He said the Ramadan should strengthen them spiritually to lead clean lives and adhere to the teachings of the Holy Book, Quran.
"Do not allow yourselves to be trapped by greed, hatred, back-biting, rumour-mongering and other negative tendencies, which create animosity and tension in the society", he advised.
They should also display a high sense of nationalism by accepting to play their part well to propel the socio-economic development of the country.
