Jordan's health authorities on Wednesday confirmed the fourth death case of influenza A/H1N1 in the country.
A 22-year-old Jordanian girl died of the novel flu after being admitted into the state-run Zarqa Hospital's intensive care unit on Sunday, the Health Ministry said in a statement.
The girl contracted the disease a week prior to her diagnosis with the flu, said the statement, adding that late diagnosis of the disease made her condition deteriorate.
As of Wednesday, the number of A/H1N1 flu cases registered in the Arab kingdom hit 2,003 since the discovery of the first case in June, according to the Health Ministry.
