A taxi driver Azumah Yaga is in the grips of the Dadieso Police in the Aowin District for allegedly condoning and conniving with two others to steal 10 bags of cocoa beans and a chain saw.
Sources at the Western Regional Crime Office told the Ghana News Agency in Sekondi on Thursday that Yaga was in charge of a taxi cab with registration number AS979-13 belonging to one Abdulai.
The police said Abdulai and Abu Tugah, the other two accomplices, asked Yaga to drive them to a cocoa shed belonging to Kwabena Asare at Antokrom, near Dadieso.
Upon reaching the cocoa shed, they stole 10 bags of dry cocoa beans and a chain saw machine belonging to Kwabena Asare but d while loading the cocoa beans into the taxi, Asare saw them and raised alarm but the suspects sped-off.
The police said Asare reported the theft to Dadieso Police and Yaga was arrested.
Upon interrogation, Yaga revealed that the stolen items are in his bedroom and sent the police to his house to retrieve them.
