Delegates of the Young Diplomats of Ghana (YDG) have congratulated Ambassador Kwesi Quartey for making Ghana proud on his election and appointment as Vice Chair of the African Union (AU) Commission for a four-year term.
“With his vast experience and knowledge in diplomacy and international affairs as a Diplomat, having served in various capacities in Ghana’s High Commissions in Cotonou, Cairo, Brussels, Havana, and London and also as Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, we believe Ambassador Quartey would discharge his duties with dignity and honour to positively add up to the realisation of the vision of the African people and the African Union.”
In a statement signed by Juana Akuamoah Boateng and copied to the Ghana News Agency, the YDG said they believed in the dream of Ambassador Quartey and dedication towards building an Africa full of hope and possibilities. “And we look up to him as the astute role model who will churn out the way for developing our hopes and ideals as young diplomats and future leaders.”
They urged him to keep up the good work in advancing the socio-economic development of Ghana and the rest of Africa. The Young Diplomats of Ghana is a non-governmental and non-profit network that seeks to advance the development of a new generation of aspiring leaders and diplomats in Ghana, and to build their advocacy experiences.
