Eighteen (18) government appointees of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly have been sworn in. This was at an emergency meeting of the assembly and on hand to perform the ceremony was the Akim-Oda Magistrate, Mr. Kwesi Appiatse Abaidoo.
The appointees include chiefs, queens, political party officials and civil servants.
The meeting was also used to elect the assembly’s representatives to the Electoral College, which would be electing the person to represent the Eastern Region on the Council of State. They are Mr. Emmanuel Mireku, assembly member for Petenyinase, in Akim-Manso, and Mr. Andrews Abrokwa, the Presiding Member.
