Mr Clement Dandori, the Kasena Nankana West District Chief Executive, has said he would place emphasis on the development of agriculture, health and education during his term of office.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Paga on Friday, he said the objective was to encourage the youth and women to engage in productive ventures that would improve their livelihoods.
Mr Dandori pledged to work with the security to avert any smuggling activity through the borders of the District.
He said he will also work with the assembly members and staff of the District Assembly to establish the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the district so that people would not travel far distances to access the service.
He appealed to the chiefs in the area to ensure that children in the area attend school regularly since education is the key to fight poverty, disease and ignorance.
