The Ablekuma North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Kofi Ofori has visited some traditional rulers in the municipality to present drinks and money to them on behalf of the president in connection with this year’s celebration of the Homowo Festival.
Mr Ofori also seized the opportunity to introduce himself to the chiefs and queenmothers after his nomination by the president, followed by his confirmation and swearing-in as the first MCE of the newly created Municipal Assembly.
Some of the traditional areas he visited were; Darkuman, Odorkor-Official Town, Kwashieman and Odorkor-Otaten.
The rest were; Awoshie-Lafa, Sakaman, Odorkor and Odorkor-Tsuim.
In all the places, Mr. Ofori said government recognised their important roles in the peace and stability of the country, stressing that President Nana Akufo-Addo had great respect for the chieftaincy institution and appealed for their continuous support and co-operation in the governance of the country.
The MCE said as a new municipality, there were bound to be a lot of challenges but was hopeful that with the concerted efforts of all, especially in the area of sanitation and revenue mobilisation, Ablekuma North would enjoy a lot of development to enhance the living standards of the people.
On their part, the traditional rulers expressed to the President and the MCE for remembering and recognising them.
They pledged their maximum support and co-operation to the MCE and the government in ensuring the accelerated development of the new municipal assembly.
