Mr Malik Anabila Afegrah, a Patron of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has donated a brand new pick-up vehicle to the Bolgatanga East Constituency branch of the party.
The Patron further presented food items including rice, cooking oil, canned tomatoes, sardines and bars of soap to all constituency and polling station executives.
Additionally, Mr Afegrah is working in collaboration with the Regional Executives of the party to help resolve an impasse between some of the Constituency Executives and Reverend Emmanuel Abugre Abole, the District Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga East District.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Zuarungu, Mr Afegrah stated that the donation, which formed part of support for the party's 2020 election, was in fulfillment of a promise he made to the constituency.
He said aside the gesture, he was bent on supporting President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and the party in general to win both the Parliamentary and Presidential elections in the constituency in the 2020 general elections.
The Patron admonished party executives in the constituency to bury their differences and work together to ensure that the party won massively in the 2020 general elections.
He entreated the delegates to vote for a unifier, peacemaker, a patriotic and development oriented person as the parliamentary candidate for the area at the party's primary scheduled for September 28 this year.
Mr Anthony Namoo, the Regional Chairman of the Party, who received the pick-up, commended the Mr Afegrah for the support and the significant role he had been playing to advance the party's fortunes both at the grassroots and national level.
He reminded the executives that no one could attain a political position without a political party winning power first, and underscored the need for them to put the interest of the party ahead of their parochial interests.
"It will be highly impossible for anyone to be appointed or given position in governance without being an election winning material. It therefore behooves on all of you to do away with political bickering and backbiting and work hard towards ensuring that the party retained power come the next elections", he stressed.
The Regional Chairman further pointed out to the Constituency Executives that appointments to political positions are often given to constituencies that performed well during elections, urging them to ensure that the party won more votes in the area.
