Nana Osei Agyei, an Assembly member aspirant for the Akyeremade Electoral Area in the Asante Bekwai Municipality, says he will prioritise capacity building for employable skills for his people when given the nod in the upcoming District Level Elections.
He said sustainable income generation to improve the livelihoods of the people, especially women and the youth, was crucial but that could be achieved only through skill acquisition.
Nana Agyei made this known to the Ghana News Agency during a training programme he facilitated to equip women and the youth with skills in the commercial production of soap, fresh yogurt, ice cream and shampoo.
It was held with joint sponsorship from Mother Ghana Foundation International, Trio Needy Hand, and Dream Shapers Foundation, all non-governmental organisations.
Nana Agyei said it formed part of an elaborate initiative to create jobs and empower young people economically.
He urged the people to take advantage of the opportunity to learn new vocations for a secured future.
Nana Boamah Darko, the Krontihene of Akyermade, commended the aspirant for the initiative and urged him to sustain it to help more young people acquire employable skills.
