A Clergyman has cautioned Ghanaians to desist from partisan politics that can negatively affect the country's development and peaceful co-existence.
He added that using violence to settle squabbles would result in threatening mayhem.
Apostle Ebenezer Abrampah Kwakye, General Overseer of the Gospel Truth Ministry International, at Achiase in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region, therefore, urged political parties to rally behind the government to ensure national development and progress.
He gave the warning at a Sunday service, themed: "2020 – Pressing towards the goal" at the church's headquarters at Achiase.
Apostle Abrampah Kwakye used the programme to advise children to be obedient and respectful to their parents, guardians and all people they meet and speak the truth at all times.
He entreated teachers and parents to teach children integrity, honesty, respect for others, hardwork, and that parents should endeavour to supplement the efforts of school teachers in the education and bringing up of their children.
The Apostle also urged religious leaders to educate their members on government policies and programmes, to help the youth to avoid causing mayhem during elections.
The General Overseer urged the Metro, Municipal and District Assemblies to bring governance to the citizenry and ascertain at first hand, information on what was happening at the local level and find solutions.
The Clergyman called on appointees to discharge their duties diligently without any blemish, and clergymen to implement reforms to help propel rapid and inclusive growth of their churches.
On anonymous letter writing, he said the syndrome was damaging the image of the church, institutions, officials and the state at large, and therefore, advised those engaged in that act to stop.
On the environment, he said the absence of clear laws made it difficult to protect and support efforts to sustain it and called for a strong political will to protect the environment.
Apostle Abrampah Kwakye appealed to the current and succeeding governments to commit more resources to help implement policies to improve the well-being of the people.
