Ukraine closed its borders to foreign visitors at midnight - in an attempt to halt the spread of Covid-19. A record 2,438 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours.
These are the headlines elsewhere in Europe:
• As of 08:00 this morning (06:00 GMT) Parisians have had to wear masks across the capital and three areas surrounding it. After the rule came into effect, the head of police agreed to a request from the mayor to exempt cyclists and joggers from wearing one
• Across France, another 6,111 cases have been reported within 24 hours - the highest in several months. The Tour de France is starting in a "red zone" in Nice, so officials say it will be "practically behind closed doors"
• Spain is also seeing a surge in cases, especially in Madrid, Catalonia and the Basque Country. The Canary Islands have tightened rules, including making mask-wearing compulsory in workplaces.
• One country where masks haven't exactly become the norm is the Netherlands. They are compulsory in certain busy areas of Amsterdam and Rotterdam and officials will decide today whether to maintain the rule.
