Guinea's military leader Col Mamady Doumbouya will on Friday be sworn in as the interim president.
He led the coup that ousted President Alpha Condé early last month, and recent sanctions by Ecowas against the junta mean no regional leaders are to attend Friday's ceremony at the presidential palace.
Col Doumbouya is expected to form a government in the coming weeks.
Aged 41, the military leader will become Africa's second-youngest head of state - the youngest being 38-year-old Col Assimi Goïta of Mali, who led a coup against President Ibrahim Keïta.
Col Doumbouya said his soldiers had seized power in Guinea because they wanted to end rampant corruption, human rights abuses and mismanagement.
President Condé had been re-elected for a controversial third term in office last year amid violent protests.
The veteran opposition leader was first elected in 2010, in Guinea's first democratic transfer of power.
