Former Western North Regional Minister, Joojo Rocky Obeng, has officially declared his support for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for the latter’s presidential bid, praising the former Assin Central MP for his longstanding philanthropic work and unwavering dedication to the grassroots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement marking Kennedy Agyapong’s birthday, Mr. Obeng said the outspoken politician has earned a reputation for generosity and loyalty, which he believes are qualities needed to rebuild party unity and prepare for future electoral success.
“Hon. You have long entrenched your name as a generous giver to the base of our party and to the Ghanaian people. You have in time past made several life-changing and life-saving donations from the North to the South, from the East to the West to support the Ghanaian people,” Mr. Obeng stated.
As part of his personal commitment, the former regional minister announced the donation of a prime piece of real estate to aid Agyapong’s reorganisation drive.
“Today being your birthday, I wish to also make a few donations to you and make some very wonderful commitments to the course that you’ve embarked on. Hon. I am aware you’re organizing, doing quite a lot to organize our party base, to put some more strength in it. I cannot sit back and watch you do all of these. I wish to therefore contribute my widow’s mite towards this noble course by donating to you for your use, one of my landed properties at East Legon,” he declared.
Mr. Obeng urged Agyapong to continue his efforts with courage and consistency. “Hon. I believe that the efforts that you’re making in putting resources together for our party to regain its strength is a course we cannot leave you to undertake all by yourself. On this very day I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday once again, and also encourage you to remain courageous, to remain firm and to continue to be who you have always been — seeking the welfare of the young people of our country, seeking the welfare of the base of our party. May God give you the strength to push this agenda,” he added.
Kennedy Agyapong, who placed second in the 2023 NPP presidential primaries, continues to wield considerable influence within the party, particularly among the grassroots and business communities.
