The Minority Caucus in Parliament have expressed support for ongoing campaigns by citizens and the Minister for Communications to ensure a significant reduction of DStv subscription prices in the country.
In a press statement dated August 3 and signed by the ranking Member on the information and communications Committee in parliament, Hon. Matthew Nyindam, the group said the concerns raised by Ghanaians over the high cost of DStv packages, especially in comparison to other countries in the region, were valid and deserved urgent attention.
They commended the patriotic citizens who started the campaign and welcomed the efforts by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation to protect the interests of Ghanaian consumers.
According to the Minority, subscription fees must be fair and reflect the current state of Ghana’s economy.
