Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has described the role of MPs as one of the most demanding in Ghana’s governance structure.
Sharing his personal experience, Mr. Ofosu admitted that he once underestimated the pressure MPs face until he assumed the role himself.
“I must indicate that contesting and running for MP has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I used to underestimate the kind of stress that MPs come under,” he said on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, September 16.
He explained that MPs bear the brunt of public pressure because they are the most visible and accessible political figures in their constituencies.
