The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tano North Constituency has initiated a reconciliation process aimed at uniting party members and resolving internal divisions that emerged during the recently concluded presidential primaries.
The move, led by the Member of Parliament for the area, Gideon Boako, follows reported factional tensions in the build-up to the party’s internal elections.
The reconciliation meeting brought together coordinators of the five aspirants who contested the primaries, with a focus on rebuilding cohesion at the grassroots level.
Addressing the media on Monday, February 16, Dr Boako pledged to restore confidence in the party among members across the Ahafo Region and reposition the constituency as a model of unity.
“What we want to signal from Tano North Constituency to all constituencies across the region is that Tano North remains a strong pillar of the New Patriotic Party. In Parliament, as we speak, we are the only constituency in the region that has produced a Member of Parliament.
“We want to send a clear signal that in Tano North, we are united behind the flagbearer of the party. We are calling on all other constituencies in the region to emulate this unity. Our goal is to ensure that the Ahafo Region remains a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party,” he added.
