The Asante-Mampong Municipal Assembly is expected to receive a total amount of GH¢1,670,431.48 to undertake development projects in the area this year.
Mr Daniel Appau-Ohyeamang, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the money would come from the District Assemblies Common Fund and the District Development Fund.
He said out of the figure, GH¢460,000.00 would go into the implementation of new development projects, while GH¢328,171.24 would be used to complete on-going ones and GH¢526,260.24 for contingencies.
He was addressing an executive committee meeting of the assembly at Asante-Mampong.
Mr Appau-Ohyeamang said to help to tackle the malaria disease, to promote child health and to support HIV-AIDS control programmes, the Assembly had allocated GH¢11,000.00 to the Municipal Health Directorate.
Other key activities to be undertaken include the maintenance of feeder roads, provision of sanitation facilities, renovation of the Municipal Education Office, construction of a three-bedroom semi-detached staff bungalow and dormitory block for the Amaniampong Senior High School.
They would also build some market stores.
Mr Appau-Ohyeamang urged the Assembly’s revenue collectors to work hard to increase internally revenue generation.
