Afghans have mixed reactions about the future of their country's security.
Kabul resident Abdul Hadi said, "I am happy to see foreign troops leaving our country, as our security forces are capable enough to fill the gap and take control of our homeland."
Kabul resident Mirwais Khan said, "I am happy for the troops to pull out, but in the meantime I am worried because our leaders do not have the courage to defend our provinces if the foreigners leave."
Kabul University student Mujib Rahman said, "If the annual expenses of foreign troops shifts to Afghan security forces and provides them with enough financial and equipment support, I am confident that the Afghan security forces will be capable of taking control of the country's security properly."
Javeed Kohestani, Former Afghan Army General, said, "The pullout of ten to fifteen thousand American troops from the south will definitely impact the security situation in Afghanistan, because these troops are stationed near borders with Pakistan. If they leave, the insurgents will easily cross the border and infiltrate Afghanistan. I think this specific pullout at this time will challenge the future of Afghanistan."
