Paulo Dybala says he expects to sign a new contract with Juventus soon as talks between his advisors and the Serie A club continue.
Dybala, 23, was expected to put pen to paper on a new deal last week, when his agent was in Turin to conclude the deal. However, there has yet to be an official announcement and that has led to speculation that an agreement may not be such a formality.
The Argentina international says there is nothing to worry about, though, and that negotiations are progressing well.
"Juventus and my agent have met in recent days and they have had the chance to talk," Tuttosport reports Dybala as saying. "Talks are at a very advanced stage, even though my agent now has to return to Argentina because his son is about to be born.
"But everybody is positive and we are certain that the renewal will arrive. I know we've been talking about it since November, but it doesn't only depend on me. You need to ask Juventus too."
Dybala has been linked with Real Madrid and a host of other top European clubs after impressing in his first 18 months in Turin, even more so following a recent change in tactics.
"I'm loving this new system," he said. "There are so many of us now in attack and our opponents are unable to mark us because we're moving around so much. We definitely still have to improve the way we move out from the back in certain situations, but this style of play is perfect.
"There are not many teams around capable of stopping us when we play like this."
Dybala has now scored 35 goals in 74 games for Juventus with the Serie A leaders keen to retain his services beyond the expiry of his current contract in 2020.
