Eric Ayiah, captain of the National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets has admitted that, the Malians were better side hence the 2-1 victory over them in the quarter-final game of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Under-17World Cup in India.
The Starlet’s captain speaking at the team’s base in Guwahati, India noted that the Malians were a very good side and much better than Ghana and this result in their good results in the game we played.
“The Malian team is better than us. They are very strong squad and they played better than us.
“They will go far in the tournament and I know they would make Africa proud. We need to support them at this level, because they are representing Africa.
“Though we are out, we know their capabilities and I am sure they would deliver,” he said.
Mali would come up against Spain at the semi-final stage on Wednesday 25th Oct 2017 at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
