Rosalind Koromah Amoh, a seasoned sports journalist, has called on female sports journalists in Ghana and Africa, to act professionally in the execution of their job to earn the needed respect from stakeholders.
According to Mrs. Amoh, though there was so much pressure and challenges for female sports journalists hence the need for the right attitude and focus as the driving forces.
Mrs. Amoh, who has over 25 a year experience in sports journalism was delivering an address at the one day seminar organized by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) in collaboration with International Sports Press Association (AIPS), with the theme “raising the bar for today’s women’s sports journalists” at the Alisa hotel, Accra.
“There are a lot of challenges in this our chosen field, but there is the need to know who you are as a person and what you stand for and to achieve.
“There has always been discrimination in the execution of our duties as females, but with the right mental fortitude and determination, it is easy to get noticed for all the good reasons, earning you the necessary respect” she added.
Mrs. Amoh urged female sports journalists to have the ability to deal with any kind of pressure and never to underestimate anyone in their pursuit to greatness, but must very objective and fair in their reportage.
