Female club owners in the country have agreed to participate in the National Women’s League proposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC).
The League, expected to commence on Saturday, March 9, would see clubs in the Northern and Southern zone battle for the ultimate.
According to the NC in a meeting held today at the GFA Headquarters in Accra, the sixteen clubs in the Northern and Southern zone would pocket Gh¢7,500.00 for participating, whilst the clubs that progresses to the quarter and semi-final stage would take Gh¢3000.00 and Gh¢5000.00 respectively.
On the part of the NC, the ultimate prize money would be communicated later to the Clubs.
The clubs have been grouped into four where Fabulous Ladies, Ashtown Ladies, Kumasi Sports Academy and Supreme Ladies are housed in Group A. Pearlpia Ladies, Northern Ladies, Prisons Ladies, and Ampem Darkoa paired with Group B whilst Group C is made up of Sealions, Soccer Intellectuals, Hassacas Ladies and LadyStrikers.
Halifax Ladies, Samaria Ladies, Police Ladies and Immigration Ladies also housed in Group D.
The female league clubs have been inactive in club football over six months following ace investigative journalist number 12 expose which collapsed the administration of the GFA and football inactive in the country.
The club owners welcomed the news to participate in the competition to keep their players active and in-form.
