However, the pair lost 2-3 in the quarter-finals to Nigeria’s duo of Aruna Quadri and Abiodun Bode.

Ghana’s duo of Samuel Akayade and Emmanuel Commey beat Egypt’s pair of Essar Khalid and Assar Omar 3-2 to progress to the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles yesterday.

In the ladies event, the pair of Lynda Annor and Cynthia Kwabi were beaten 3-0 by the Egyptian duo of Dina Meshref and Yousra Helmy in the quarter-finals.
