The young Ghanaian, ahead of his trip to Uganda, vowed to annex three gold medals and he achieved that in Kampala.

Amoah won three bronze medals at the recent African Games in Rabat, Morocco in the 89kg weightlifting category.

Speaking to Graphic Sports Online about the feat of Amoah, Ben Nunoo-Mensah, the president of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF), said the young weightlifter is Ghana’s next shining star in the sport.

“Amoah is a great athlete, he has the tenacity of steel and will break boundaries in his blossoming career,” he noted.

He appealed to the government and corporate societies to support weightlifting, adding that it serves as a source of employment for the youth.
