Ghanaian forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been named Leicester City's Men's Young Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season at the club's end of season awards ceremony held at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, April 30.
After joining the club on loan from Sporting Lisbon, Fatawu won over the Foxes’ supporters with his stellar performances.
He netted seven goals and provided 13 assists in 42 appearances in the year under review.
His standout moment came with a remarkable hat-trick and a crucial assist for Jamie Vardy’s goal in Leicester’s dominant 5-0 victory over Southampton at King Power Stadium last Tuesday.
He also played a pivotal role in Monday’s 3-0 title-clinching triumph against Preston North End, assisting Kasey McAteer.
His outstanding contributions played a significant role in Leicester City’s triumph in the English Championship, securing their promotion to the Premier League for the upcoming season.
With his exceptional form exceeding expectations, Leicester City are set to secure his services permanently with the potential transfer deal estimated to be in the region of €17 million.
