President John Agyekum Kufuor, would return home on Sunday night, after a two-week official tour of the US.
As part of the visit, President Kufuor was hosted by his counterpart, President George Bush, at a three-day State visit in Washington and later addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The state visit paved the way for President Kufuor and President Bush to discuss issues relating to democracy, economic development and security in the West African Region.
A statement signed by Mr Andrew Awuni, Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesperson, said the visit was the second by an African leader in the eight year-term of President Bush.
He said the visit had deepened Ghana-US partnership and strengthened their commitment to promote peace and prosperity in Africa and the world at large.
