He noted that since 1996, the voting pattern of the Sefwis has been the same explaining "you always vote for the National Democratic Congress candidates to represent you in parliament".
Nana Akufo Addo was speaking at separate rallies at Sefwi Wiaiwso and Sefwi Asawinso to round of his five-day tour of the Western Region.
He pointed out that if government had depended on the voting pattern in the area then, there would not have been any development.
"We do not discriminate when it comes to the development of an area," he said, adding, "no government in Ghana can match the history of this ruling party".
He added that he needed their mandate to become the President of the country in January 2009, to continue with the unfinished agenda of the ruling NPP.
Nana Addo explained that people were voted into power to protect the future of the people and to ensure that there was development for the people.
He therefore encouraged the people to change their voting pattern and vote for the NPP in this year's election for their own good.
Mr Kwasi Blay, Deputy Western Regional Minister, said despites the voting pattern of the people, government had constructed roads, built schools with headmaster's bungalow among others for the people in the area.
He said government will continue to bring development to the area, but that will depend on "our wining the December general elections massively in Sefwi and its environs".
He urged all to forge ahead in unity for the party, the area and the country as a whole, adding that, "you should vote for the NPP for you to have a representative in parliament who will discuss your needs with the president".
Mr Alan Kyeremanteng, a member of the campaign team noted that, there are five constituencies in the Sefwi Wiaso District, but the NPP had only one representative as a Member of Parliament in the area.
He therefore urged them to vote for the NPP and welcome people in the NDC who have decided to join the party.
