Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister on Wednesday advised Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMCE's) to give due respect and dignity to assembly members at all levels of their administration.
He said such a gesture would encourage the members to offer their knowledge, rich experience and expertise to support them to enhance the systematic development of the assemblies.
Mr Owusu-Ansah, who is also Member of Parliament for Kwabre West, gave the advice when swearing-in Mr Owusu Gyamerah, Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive in Kumasi.
He advised Mr Gyamerah to be fair and firm in his dealings and be bold in his decisions without any discrimination for the benefit of the people and to win the confidence and trust reposed in him.
Mr Owusu-Ansah pointed out that the assemblies were not a goldmine but a fulcrum for the socio-economic development and welfare of the people in the area.
Right Reverend Nuh Ben Abubekr, Immediate Past Bishop of Kumasi Diocese of Methodist Church of Ghana was optimistic the myriad of problems confronting the Municipality would be solved under his administration.
He asked Mr Gyamerah not to leave God in his endeavours, remain loyal to Government and be firm in his decisions to bring total development to the people.
