The President of the Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF), Nai Kwao Otuo V, has said elections are about choosing a group of competent people to administer the country and not about life and death.
"There is therefore the need to maintain a peaceful election so that Ghanaians can carry on with their lives".
Nai Otuo said this in a statement at the 24th National Farmers Day Celebration jointly organised by the Effutu Municipal and Awutu-Senya district Assembly at Awutu Beraku.
He appealed to farmers and fishers to ensure that they vote wisely and peacefully during the December election to maintain peace before, during and after the election.
Nai Otuo congratulated farmers and fishers in the country for their efforts to ensure the progress of Ghana's agriculture in the face of daunting challenges in the sector.
He said the association would continue to enhance its role of directly supporting farmers and fishers in attaining increased productivity and profitability in the coming years.
