Mr Joseph Jones Amoah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ahanta West Constituency, at the weekend stated that quality health care delivery and education would be his major priorities if he was elected on December 7.
Mr Amoah said the NDC would upgrade the only clinic at the district capital, Agona Nkwanta, to a hospital status to meet the health needs of the people in the area.
Mr Amoah who stated these at a rally organized by the party at Dixcove, a fishing community near Agona Nkwanta, noted that "Our district capital deserved a hospital not a clinic".
Mr Amoah said he would use a percentage of his common fund to award scholarships to needy but brilliant students in the area.
He said he would meet the chiefs and people regularly to discuss and initiate developmental projects that would meet the needs of the people and he would make sure that he worked with any District Chief Executive (DCE) appointed by his party.
Mr Amoah observed that the area would lag behind in development when there was disunity between the DCE and the MP.
Mr Amoah said industries in area have suffered under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NDC led by professor John Evans Atta Mills would bring socio-economic development to Ghanaians.
He said the party would ensure that the youth were employed in the country's oil industry.
Mr Amoah also stated that the NDC would construct the road from Agona Nkwanta to Cape Three Point, where oil has been found to open up the area for massive investment and infrastructure development.
He called on the electorates to vote for the NDC to bring hope to the people and improvement in the living standard of the masses.
Mr Amoah asked the people to eschew all forms of violence before, during and after the December 7, polls.
