An Iraqi Minister said on Thursday that they did not allow any terrorist organization to use Iraqi territories as a base, Turkish Anatolia news agency reported.
Iraqi Minister of National Dialogue Akram al-Hakim said in Ankara during a press conference that his country would never accept any terrorist organization to use its territories as a base for attacks against a neighbouring country.
Noting the tragedy that innocent civilians were losing their lives in Iraq every day, the Iraqi minister said that they understand well how much Turkey suffered from the terrorist attacks carried out by the outlawed Kurdish Worker's Party (PKK).
"Iraqi people would never want any harm to Turkey," said Al- Hakim, adding that Kurdish groups in Iraq also termed PKK as a terrorist organization.
The minister said enhancing relations between Turkey and Iraq would help block the path of terrorists.
Al-Hakim, the special representative of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, is visiting Turkey under a mission tour to regional countries to explain the content of a security pact on the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
He has visited Iran and is scheduled to visit Lebanon and United Arab Emirates.
