An Accra Fast Track Court will on Wednesday determine a Mandamus application brought before it by Mr Dan Lartey, presidential candidate of the Ghana Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP).
Mr. Justice K. A. Ofori Atta, the presiding judge, fixed the date after its sitting on Monday.
By the Order of Mandamus, Mr Lartey is praying the court to compel the Electoral Commission (EC) to accept his nomination forms, to enable him to contest as the party's presidential candidate in the December 7.
In October, the EC rejected Mr Lartey's forms because he failed to supply all the information required at the deadline.
Not satisfied with the Commission's action, he instituted the legal action against it.
In legal parlance, a Writ of Mandamus is normally resorted to when one wants the court to compel another to do something contrary to an action the latter had taken.
