Special voting for security personnel and other professionals including media personnel, who would be on duty on Sunday December 7, during the general election, took of smoothly in the Cape Coast constituency on Tuesday.
When the GNA arrived at the Central Regional Police Headquarters, the designated polling station at about 09.30 hours, 92 out of the about 1,500 people expected to take part in the exercise, had cast their votes.
There was a long queue comprising media personnel, the police, fire, prisons and immigration services, and the presiding officer, Mr Harry Morgan Inseidoo, told the GNA that voting began at exactly 0700 hours.
According to the Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission (EC) the exercise is taking place throughout the region, but could not readily provide the total number of people taking part in the exercise in the region.
Only the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had their polling agents present.
