Polling station agents have been told to discharge their duties responsibly on December 7, 2008 for peaceful elections.
Mr Francis Osei Nsiah, Atwima- Mponua District Electoral Officer, who gave the advice, said if agents played their watchdog roles well at the polling stations, they would contribute immensely to a credible election results.
He was speaking at a workshop organised by the Electoral Commission for some political party agents drawn from 149 polling stations in the District.
The Electoral Officer urged the agents to arrive at the polling stations before the opening of the polls at 0700 hours and remained there until the station officially finished its business.
Mr Nsiah reminded the agents that it was not their responsibility to supervise the work of the polling station staff but rather observe the conduct of the polls and call attention to any irregularities.
