The Electoral Commission (EC) on Thursday spelt out the categories of people mandated to visit polling stations on December 7 to observe at first hand electoral proceedings.
The authorised people are; accredited local and international observers, journalists, national and regional executive members of contesting political parties, security personnel, contesting candidates and spouses, and monitors.
In an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra, Mr Albert Kofi Arhin, EC Director of Elections, said all accredited officials are to wear a prescribed identification tag - exhibiting their photograph, name, organisation and mandate.
Mr Arhin said: "Only EC accredited officials are allowed within 100 meters of the polling stations. All others after voting are to stay clear, within a reasonable distance, which would not interfere with proceedings at the polling station.
"Accredited officials are also to restrict their operations at the polling station in order not to interfere with electoral administration or give any instructions to the electoral officials."
He said the Commission used last Tuesday's Special Voting exercise as a dress rehearsal for the main polls on Sunday, stressing that the minor irregularities were mostly administrative hiccups rather than operational challenges.
"Irrespective of these challenges, we are asking our Electoral Officials to sharpen their distribute network of the electoral materials; they should be thorough and methodical in managing non-sensitive materials, carry all materials to the polling station.as indications are that there would be a heavy voter turn-out on Sunday, December 7."
Mr Arhin said the Commission was ready to conduct free, transparent and credible elections on Sunday.."
"All electoral materials have been sent to their respective designated regional centres four clear days before voting."
Mr Arhin called on all stakeholders, media, political parties, polling agents, security officials and the electorates to play their mandated roles with circumspection.
