Amid tension between India and Pakistan over the Mumbai terror attacks, Islamabad Thursday said it is committed to cordial relations with New Delhi and the Composite Dialogue process to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries.
Pakistan has also offered India "fullest cooperation and assistance to bring the perpetrators" of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai to justice as both countries are victims of the "common enemy" of terrorism, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said.
During a meeting with the visiting Omani Foreign Minister Yousaf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Gilani said Pakistan had condemned the Mumbai attacks in the strongest terms.
He also said President Asif Ali Zardari and he had offered the Indian leadership Pakistan's fullest cooperation in probing the incident.
Pakistan "remained committed to have cordial neighbourly relations with India through composite dialogue process in order to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries amicably through dialogue," Gilani was quoted as saying in an official statement.
Gilani briefed Abdullah about the efforts of his government to bring all political parties "on board for a joint approach against terrorism and in facing the present challenges to the country's security".
The leadership of major world powers had been "appraised of Pakistan's willingness to cooperate with India in investigating the Mumbai incident and the world leadership had appreciated Pakistan's position", he said.
