The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the Mfantseman -west constituency, through their parliamentary candidate, Mr Aquinas Quansah, a 41 -year old advertiser.
The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, who is also the Minister of Information and National Orientation lost the seat to the NDC.
The NDC also won the presidential election in the constituency and also retained its parliamentary seat in the Mfantseman -east constituency being occupied by 51-year old George Kuntu-Blankson, a social scientist.
The NPP, has however, retained its seats in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa and Assin south constituency for the incumbents Mr Paul Collins Appiah Ofori, a 51-year old accountant, and Prof Dominic Fobih, 66, Minister of Education, Science and Sports, respectively.
