Top leaders of Jordan and Lebanon on Sunday called for "a just and comprehensive peace" between Israel and Arab states in line with the relevant UN resolutions and the Arab peace initiative, said a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court.
The statement came following a summit between Jordan's King Abdullah II and visiting Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, who arrived in Amman on Sunday for a two-day official visit.
The two leaders, whose countries house large numbers of Palestinian refugees, also called for tackling the issue in accordance with UN resolutions and stressed the importance of ending the inter-Palestinian rift, added the statement.
As for the situation in Lebanon, they called for a "full implementation" of UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, said the statement.
King Abdullah voiced his support for the national reconciliation process in Lebanon.
They also touched on bilateral economic and commercial cooperation, added the statement.
Jordanian exports to Lebanon amounted to around 71 million dollars in the first half of 2008, while Lebanese exports to Jordan stood at 50 million dollars, according to official data.
