Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that combat against law mafia should be done effectively so that would provide benefit for people, Kompas. com online news reported on
Thursday.
"I want that in the first 100 working days (of cabinet), fight against mafia and law reforms could be run effectively so that people will sense
that law field is getting better," said the president in his opening remarks on a cabinet session here.
All ministers attended the meeting, including the national police chief, military chief, the intelligent body chief and attorney general.
Previously, Yudhoyono has asked not to be forced to take steps beyond his authority as a president in handling law process against two deputy chairmen of the country's anti-graft body, Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah.
The president wanted that the problem solving would not trigger a new bigger one.
"Don't push me as a president to take measures out of my authority because it means that I would violate the law," he said on Wednesday.
