A one day orientation organised by the Yendi Municipal Assembly for 60 Assembly members of Yendi Municipal Assembly is being held at Yendi in the Yendi Municipality of Northern Region.
The topics discussed include the decentralization policy, the assembly,
its committees and roles of assembly members, finances of the assembly and model standing orders.
The Yendi Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Alhaji Shehu Awudu Kadiri, said the orientation was aimed at equipping the assembly members with the knowledge and skills to enable them not only to enrich their contributions during assembly deliberations but also to appreciate the enormous
responsibilities on them as agents of development in the municipality.
Alhaji Shehu appealed to assembly members to be innovative and imbibe new ideas and best practices elsewhere should be pursued with the
seriousness they deserve.
