The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma North constituency, Mr Justice Joe Appiah, has praised the electorate for retaining him as MP for the second term.
He said his re-election indicated the trust and confidence the people have in him and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Appiah in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday, called on NPP supporters to remain calm as the party sought justice at the Supreme Court over results of Election 2012 that was announced by the Electoral Commissioner, Dr Kwadwo Afari Djan.
The MP stressed that the NPP was preparing for court between 27 and 28 of December for the determination of the case, and added "it is our hope that the court will give fair justice to make the whole world know about the truth. If there is no justice then there cannot be equal rights".
Mr Appiah appealed to NPP supporters to avoid resorting to street activities that might cause mayhem but rather continue to look up to the leadership to pursue justice at court.
He wished Ghanaians a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, and called on Christians to pray ceaselessly and fear the Lord. since the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge.
